Abstract

On October 13, 2024, the Polish academic community, joined by colleagues around the world, bid a heartfelt farewell to Professor Stefan Jakobielski – a towering figure in scholarship, an inspiring mentor and a beloved friend. His immense contributions over decades greatly advanced our understanding of medieval Nubian culture and played a pivotal role in shaping Polish Mediterranean archaeology.
