Streszczenie

A re-discussion of the complex nature of the ancient Egyptian Wȝgj-festival. Emphasis is placed once more upon its association with the Thoth celebration and its temporal location following that religious event. Data from the Old Kingdom will be stressed, but the existence of the ‘fixed Wȝgj’, set on day eighteen of the first Egyptian civil month, is ineluctably associated with its earlier lunar-based ‘twin’.
