Streszczenie
Artykuł przedstawia wstępne obserwacje dotyczące zabytków szklanych odkrytych na stanowisku Hippos (Sussita) w czasie badań prowadzonych w latach 2000–2009. W trakcie wykopalisk została odsłonięta znaczna część miasta z okresu grecko-rzymskiego oraz bizantyjsko-omajjadzkiego, w szczególności budynki o charakterze publicznym. Badania, oprócz innych znalezisk, przyniosły duże ilości naczyń szklanych, spośród których 1900 fragmentów zostało zaklasyfikowanych jako diagnostyczne. Artykuł prezentuje naczynia pochodzące z dwóch eksplorowanych obszarów: z jednego z budynków publicznych badanych przez archeologów z Izraela oraz z północno-zachodniego kościoła odsłanianego przez ekipę polską. Zabytki należące do pierwszej grupy pokazują, jak istotna dla interpretacji funkcji budynku może być analiza szkła, zwłaszcza w połączeniu z materiałem ceramicznym. Druga grupa, pochodząca z kościoła, przedstawia repertuar naczyń szklanych ze specyficznego, sakralnego kontekstu.
